Papers and memorabilia of John Powell [manuscript], 1919-1978.

The papers contain a sympathy acknowledgement, 1960, from Powell; a letter, 1961 October 6, Charles Wendt to Powell regarding his plans and a Fulbright application, with a draft of Powell's reply on verso; and a letter, 1970 November 10, Leigh Williams to Mrs. John H. Landrum enclosing a copy of the 1899 will of Rebecca Leigh Powell. The papers also contain newspaper clippings and printed material about John and Louise Burleigh Powell; programs, 1919-1964, of his concerts; and photographs of John and Louise Powell, their home "Longways," and Powell's teacher, the composer Frederic Hahr.
